The music department would like to invite you to a discussion about Miguelito Valdéz on May 7th, 2009 at 4:30pm in Library North, Conference Room (B530) Miguelito Valdéz, the Latin music giant is often overlooked by music history books. He is one of the greatest and most revered Cuban vocalists, recorded the original version of "Babalu," later to become the theme song for Desi Arnaz. This event also marks the inauguration of the Miguelito Valdéz exhibit located on the 2nd floor bridge of the library. Panelists will include professors: Danilo Lozano, Dr. Steve Loza, and Dr. Paul De Castro.
